ROCK ON: At only nineteen, Matt Stone is regarded as one of the most faithful Elvis Tribute Artists in the world, named as such in 2022 by Graceland.

TIFTON — Residents of Tifton will have the chance to relive the days of the King of Rock and Roll this weekend.

Elvis Presley Tribute Artist Matt Stone will be making a visit to the Tift Theatre Oct. 7 for his show “ELVIS: In Person,” an authentic performance emulating and reviving the energy, charm, and charisma of the legendary Elvis Presley.

Regarded as one of the top ten greatest Elvis tribute artists in the world by Graceland, Stone hopes to portray the King as accurately as possible, from setlist and set pieces to bringing the same spirit as Presley in his prime, so as to help viewers remember and honor Presley as the music icon he was.

“My goal is to show fans why Elvis is so revered, why he was so amazing,” Stone said. “Do it in a way that’s genuine and close to what he did, not in a way that’s a parody or a joke.”

At only nineteen, Stone has been a dedicated Elvis tribute artist since 2016, working constantly to improve his performance since.

He was inspired to start this profession by the character Jesse Katsopolis, an Elvis fan played by John Stamos, from the 90s sitcom Full House.

“He would do little Elvis bits on the TV show, he’d sing Elvis songs, and on one of the episodes, he did ‘Jailhouse Rock,’” Stone said. “I saw him do it and thought, ‘That was the coolest thing ever.’ I looked up the original version, watched Elvis do it, and I was hooked forever.”

This upcoming show is part of a tour across Georgia, in which Stone has also performed in Lawrenceville and Villa Rica, and is itself part of a much larger nationwide tour to bring a reliving of the King to all parts of the U.S.A.
