Tift Regional Health System honors associates at 2016 awards banquet

Tift Regional Health System honored employees who have achieved distinction at its annual awards banquet, held Oct. 24.

TIFTON – Tift Regional Health System (TRHS) saluted colleagues at its annual awards banquet held on Oct. 24 at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center. TRHS presented the John B. Prince III Distinguished Service Award to community activist and Tift Regional Medical Center Director of Patient Relations Louise Woodham.

Named after the chairman of the Tift County Hospital Authority, the John B. Prince III Distinguished Service Award recognizes a longstanding associate of TRHS who is also an established leader in the community, using their influence to enhance the mission of the hospital.

 TRHS named floor technician Saul Eady with the Environmental Services Department the Dixon-Dorminy Employee of the Year for Tift Regional Medical Center. Rudine Covington, housekeeper with Cook Senior Living Center, was named Cook Medical Center’s Employee of the Year.

 The winner of the 2016 Jensen-Patrick Nursing Excellence Award, presented the same evening, was Whitney Chung, RN, of Tift Regional Medical Center’s General Medical/Surgical unit. The foundation also presented the Exceptional Physician Award to Dr. William Guest, senior vice president and chief medical officer for Tift Regional Health System.

TRHS also saluted employees with five, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of service. The following employees were recognized for 35 years of service: Elizabeth Connell, Laboratory; Earnest Reese, Operating Room; Jane Richardson, Transfer Center; Peggy Storey, Medical Imaging; and Connie Wilcox, Environmental Services. The banquet ceremony included special tributes by staff as well as a musical presentation by Stephanie Burgess, Fixed Asset Accountant.  

“In 2016, Tift Regional celebrates 75 years of healing,” said TRHS President/CEO William T. Richardson. “The people honored at this awards banquet exemplify our proud heritage.”
