TIFTON — Work on the facade on the back end of Tift Theatre is well underway, though access to the alleyway behind the theatre is likely to be limited as a result.
At the conclusion to the Oct. 9 city council meeting, city manager Emily Beeman reported that the masonry rehabilitation project to repair the brickwork at the rear of the theatre was progressing steadily, but that access to Goodrich Alley would need to be limited for the time being.

The city began the project in May 2023, with support funds from the Federal Emergency Maintenance Agency and contractor Midwest Maintenance, due to the masonry and brickwork in the rear of the theatre being heavily damaged.
Beeman reported that the businesses in the area had been informed of the inconvenience, and estimated that the project would be completed in anywhere from thirty to ninety days.
