TIFTON — Tift County commissioners have contracted with Cason Painting Company to paint the interior of the USDA offices at the Tift County Extension Services building.

The commissioners voted unanimously to award the project to the contractor during their Oct. 9 meeting as part of their consent agenda.

Cason had been picked from among three contractors the county had solicited bids from, the others being Adams Plumbing and Dependable Paint Company.

Public Works director Jason Jordan was unsure if any of the bidders had worked with the county before, but board of commissioners chair Tony McBrayer reported he was familiar with Cason’s activity around the state.

The paint company was awarded the project at a bid of $18,840.
