TIFTON — Tifton’s Best Running has a new home. Now at 218 Main St., the store celebrated its grand re-opening Oct. 9.
When Tifton’s Best Running opened 3.5 years ago, it was a few blocks down the street. The new location gives owner Don Borowski much more space, which has already come in handy.
“We were about to explode over there (at the previous store location),” said Borowski. He has been able to spread out his stock into better displays. “It turned out absolutely amazing,” he said. “I couldn’t ask for anything better.”
Borowski said having more square footage has allowed him to add more apparel — more brands and more styles. He’s looking to keep adding brands.
Tifton’s Best Running has built up quite a following and a large crowd came out Oct. 9 to celebrate the new store. “I can’t be more thankful, for not only the Tifton community, but communities around us that have supported us, and have supported myself, my family, our employees,” Borowski said. “We’re more than blessed.”
Borowski also has running stores in Statesboro and Valdosta, appropriately named Statesboro’s Best Running and Valdosta’s Best Running.
Far from being only a shop for running supplies, Borowski and Tifton’s Best Running are a very active part of Tifton. They take the shop on the road, appearing at many different events, including Run for Love and the Panther Prowl. Had Hurricane Helene not come through, Tifton’s Best Running would have been at Tift County High’s cross country meet as well.
“It’s great to have those relationships with Coach (David) Dark and Coach (Cindy) Marzen,” he said of each school’s head coach. “It’s a great partnership to really support each other.”
Tifton’s Best Running is open Monday-Saturday, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays. The store is closed Sunday, as Borowski said he wanted to be able to guarantee his employees a day off each week.
