Kenova Bernardo Solomon, 24, of Tifton died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 in Tifton. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with burial to follow at Oakridge Cemetery and a repast to conclude at the church social hall. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Mae Barnes; his children, Keyira Spann Solomon, Karmelo Solomon, Jordyn Solomon and Ka’najha Solomon; a brother, Tyrone Ricardo Hines. Professional care and services are entrusted to Southview Mortuary Inc.

George Rowell Jr. of Brunswick, formerly of Tifton  died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Halls Temple Church Of God In Christ with the Rev. Gerald Lott officiating. Burial will follow at noon Monday at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Dooley County. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services. Visitation will be held from 1 until 7 p.m. today in the Harrison Grant chapel of R. L. Jones and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral procession will leave Brunswick Monday at 8 a.m. from the funeral home. R. L. Jones and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Willie C. Hicks, 79, of Tifton died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Eldorado with interment to follow at the church cemetery. Survivors include five children, Annie Mae Hicks, Claude Hicks Jr., both of Tifton, Loretta Cater of Jonesboro, Sandy Parks and Sandra Parks, both of Tifton. Arrangements are entrusted to Taylor Family Funeral Services.

Ulysee Barron Jr., 88, of Tifton died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Beulah Hill Life Center with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Ulysee Barron II and Randy Barron; four daughters, Shirley davis of Douglas, bobbie Smith of Fitzgerald, Glenda Harvey of Louisville, Ky. and Brenda Griffin of Sparks. Arrangements are entrusted to Taylor Family Funeral Services.

Joe E. Barron, 58, of Tifton died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Beulah Hill Life Center with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Rosa L. Kennedy, 83, of Alapaha died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church with interment to follow at West Fletcher Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the hour of service Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include Frank Edwards, Bobby Edwards, Alean Brown, L.D. Green, Johnny Green, Frankie Robinson, Ernest Williams, Ernestine Williams and Frank Williams. Ward Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Lucinda Moore Miller of Nashville died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville with the Rev. Ralph White Jr. and the Rev. Marvin Smith Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. at Black and Son Chapel in Nashville. Survivors include her husband, William Miller of nashville; three sons, Andrew Thomas III of Nashville, George Thomas of Valdosta; stepson, Reggie Lumpkin of Daytona Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Christine Bennett, Elbert Jean Beale, Louvenia Jackson and Margaret Foster, all of Nashville. Lewis “Horse Collar” Davis, 83, of Tifton died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Solomon Chapel AME Church in Ty Ty.  Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton. Elamaud “Miss El” Walker Cates of Tifton died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with burial to be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Milan Cemetery in Milan.
