Frank Brinson

TIFTON — Frank Brinson, 74, of 510 Golden Road, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Shiloh Baptist Church. The Rev. Randolph Porter is the pastor and assisting. Eulogy will be given by the Rev. Gilbert T. Weston. Burial will follow at Morning Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Norman Park with the repast to conclude at Shiloh Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

American Legion Post 559 will serve as pallbearers. Deacons of Shiloh Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. There will be full military honors.

The family will receive friends at the home of Beatrice Jackson, located at 4708 Highway 319 N. in Norman Park.

Mr. Brinson was born April 15, 1937 in Colquitt County to the late Charlie David Brinson Sr. and the late Mary Smith Brinson. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn B. Byrd and Rosa Brinson; and a brother, Charlie Brinson Jr. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1978. Mr. Brinson was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he served on the deacon board and was a member of the senior choir. He enjoyed writing.

Mr. Brinson leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Patrick F. Brinson and wife Tayna of King George, Va.; three brothers, Robert Brinson and wife Ruth, Clifford Brinson and wife Johnnie, both of Columbus, and Willie C. Brinson and wife Alma of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Beatrice Jackson of Norman Park; two grandchildren, Jonathan P. Brinson and Jaylen A. Brinson, both of King George, Va.; former wife Marvolene Brinson of Tifton; two special friends, Deacon Homer Day and wife Caroline and Andrew Wright and wife Carolyn, both of Tifton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
