Tift County Land Maps

TIFTON — The Tift County Genealogical Society has both the 1910 (24X30) and 1929 (20X20) Tift County Land Maps for sale at $10 each.  Each map shows the Landholders of Tift County outside the city limits for the years mentioned.  Each Map would be suitable for framing.  Call Gladys Wiseman at 382-4137 if interested.

Heritage Books

TIFTON — The Tift County Genealogical Society has fewer than 70 of the Heritage Books of Tift County (1905-2003), second printing, left to sell.  They are $70 each. Donations Needed

TIFTON — The Children’s Department is currently seeking donations of new or gently used LEGO® pieces in order to start a LEGO® Club this fall. Please bring donations to the Children’s desk at the Tifton-Tift County Public Library at 245 Love Ave. For tax purposes, donation forms will be available upon request. Questions? TIFTON — Coastal Plain Area EOA, Inc. community service center is requestion donations for fan from the general public, churches, local businesses and civic organizations to distribute to needy senior citizens to assist with cooling methods during the Summer months. Al Anon

TIFTON — Tiftarea Al Anon family group meets every at noon Tuesdays at First Presbyterian Church of Tifton. Al Anon is for those concerned with someone else’s drinking. It is a 12-step program of recovery adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous. The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend.

 

Free mulch

TIFTON — The Tifton-Tift County Inert Landfill, located at 601 Armour St., has FREE mulch available on a first come/first serve basis. Anyone from the public may pick up mulch during the hours Monday-Saturday 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the address listed above. Due to an excessive amount of mulch stocked at the inert landfill, the City of Tifton, for a limited time, will offer FREE delivery of mulch on a first call/first serve basis. This offer of delivery will be subject to the following: (1) delivery area limited to Tift County; (2) minimum amount available for delivery is 40 cubic yards; (3) delivery location must be accessible (as determined by the Solid Waste Director); (4) availability of mulch; and, (5) scheduling and availability of a delivery truck. NARFE meets

TIFTON — The NARFE (Federal Retirees) meets the second Thursday of each month at Ole Times Country Buffet on Highway 82 West. All military, postal, Social Security, USDA and other federal employees/retirees may attend. Call Bill Wiseman at 382-4137 or Bob Hellwig, 382-2778.

 

Tea Party

Benefit Yard Sale

The age divisions are Baby, Teeny, Tiny, Little, Petite, Junior, Teen and Miss from 6 months to 24 years of age. TIFTON — Applications are being taken for the Little Miss Tifton beauty pageant to be held at 5 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Tift Theatre in Tifton. The divisions are Baby, Teeny, Tiny, Little, Petite, age 6 months to 9 years of age. This is an all natural pageant (no makeup, no hair pieces and no pageant dress, Sunday dress only).
