A 19-year-old male was allegedly robbed at gunpoint around 11 Friday morning at a residence in the 300 block of Old Omega Road.

Detective Len Moore with the Tifton Police Department stated that all units from the TPD and Tift County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area.

According to the incident report filed at the Tifton Police Department, Officer Mike Gaskins reported that he was dispatched to the 400 block of Old Omega Road in reference to a robbery. He reported that upon arrival, he met with a 19-year-old-male who stated that his friend called him to a residence in the 300 block of Old Omega Road. He told Gaskins that when he arrived, he was approached by two unknown black males — one was wearing a red jacket, black shirt and long shorts and the other was wearing a gray hooded jacket and black pants.

The male reported that when he began to talk to the subjects, they both pulled out black semi-automatic pistols and told him to empty his pockets. He said  when he didn’t, the offender wearing the red jacket fired a shot towards him, missing. He reported that he then called 911 and both offenders fled the scene on foot. The report states that the male didn’t receive any injuries from the altercation and nothing was stolen from him.

Detective Lee Dunston with the TPD said Monday that the investigation is still ongoing and to his knowledge, no arrests have been made at this time.
