Myrtle Fountain Riddle

Myrtle Fountain Riddle, 85, of Montezuma, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 at The Oaks Nursing and Personal Care Home in Marshallville. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma with Dr. Randy Gregg and the Rev. Billy Kimbrel officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 tonight at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.

Myrtle was born on July 19, 1925 in Dooly County to the late Horace Fountain and Mattie Belle Pickard Fountain. She was a registered nurse and worked at Middle Georgia Hospital in Macon, Riverside Hospital and Macon County Clinic in Montezuma and with several local doctors. Her last employment was with Heart of Georgia Hospice. She was a member of Montezuma United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her three daughters, Brenda (Jim) Lever of Tifton,  Ruth (Chris) Thompson of McKinney, Texas and Bonnie (Jule) Windham of Montezuma; two sisters, Evy Hall of Macon and Katie (Homer) Ansley of Meigs; a brother, Bun Fountain of Byromville; seven grandchildren, Lance (Amy) Lever, Lori Lever (David) Monk, Michelle Burns, LeAnn Carter, Jared (Cassie) Thompson, Ashton Windham and Spencer Windham; and eight great-grandchildren, Lauren Lever, Aaron Lever, Hembree Monk, Lizzie Monk, J.D. Monk, Anthony Burns, Adam Cousins and Nerriah Thompson; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
