Rant and Rave for August 4, 2007

Ummm… What???
“I have a question for all the Rant and Rave personnel. Say, for instance I worked at a fast food restaurant in the drive-through window and a customer comes up and smiles at me and I’m polite as well. He’s missing his two front teeth and he orders a drink with his meal. Do I give him two straws or just one?”
Get over it
“I find it very difficult to sympathize with traffic violators who are caught on camera. Tifton has a fine of group of men and women in law enforcement. They are highly trained and must re-qualify each year in their skills. The only bad thing you can say about them is the entry level salary is grossly inadequate. So, get over it. Someone once wrote, ‘one picture is worth a thousand words.’ Get over it, kid.”
Spend at home
“George W. Bush is well on his way to squandering a trillion dollars on an illegal war in Iraq. This is resulting in chaos, death and an Al Qaida training camp. That money could have been used to repair the deteriorating infrastructure in this country, like the bridge in Minneapolis that collapsed.”
Rave for Dr. Peaslee
“This is a Rave for Dr. Peaslee at Affinity Eye Care and his staff. They were wonderful today. They really helped my children with their eye exams. He was very friendly with my children… I really, really appreciate it. If you ever want to get your eyes examined, that is the place to go. Thank you very much.”
Can I get a witness?
“…If someone saw the accident on June 21 on 82 East, would you please contact us at this number: 402-9450. Thank you and have a blessed day.”
Word gets around
“This is in response to ‘Mind your own business.’ If you would read the manly manual, it clearly states, when you live in a small town, word gets around, even when you leave town.”
Another idea
“I’ve got an innovative Idea. Why don’t we take some of the billions we throw away weekly outside of our own borders and use it to fix our own decaying and antiquated infrastructure?”
Great article
“Matt Towery’s article concerning the fine professional work by Sheriff Neil Warren of Cobb County in dealing with illegal aliens in this country is outstanding. I challenge the sheriffs of South Georgia to initiate such training for their deputies and enforce the laws also concerning illegals in their jurisdictions.”
Not that friendly
“I thought Tifton was ‘The Friendly City,’ but from reading the Rant and Rave section I find this hard to believe. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you people keep telling everyone, ‘It’s none of your business, mind your own business,’ etc. This, to me, is surely not friendly. Get it together, Tifton. Live up to your name, Friendly City, and while we’re at it, try living up to the Cleanest City too, ‘cause that is far from the truth. It’s no wonder no one wants to live here, much less visit.”
