John Anthony Goff
SOMERSET, Ky. — John Anthony Goff, 41, of Somerset, Ky., formerly of Tifton, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Ray Turner will officiate. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with full Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Stan Walker, Rodney Dean Love, Dale Hayes, Foster J. Goff, Shane Fountain and Coy Goff will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Goff was born on March 15, 1966 in Albany. He was the son of John P. Goff and Juanita Goff, both of Tifton. He worked in the communications industry and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Tifton. He was also a member of the Masonic order. He had lived in Kentucky for the last several years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Goff is survived by his wife, LaVonda Goff of Somerset, Ky.; his son, John Ashley Matthew Goff of Peachtree City; and his daughter, Jennifer Marie Watson of Tifton.

Jenny Lee Durrance
ENIGMA — Jenny Lee Durrance, 47, of Enigma, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tift Memorial Gardens. Dr. Danny Ray will officiate.
Ms. Durrance was born on Jan. 22, 1960 in Orlando, Fla. She was the daughter of Melvin Danford of Fitzgerald and the late Betty Jean Ross Danford. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Wiley Fulks of Enigma; a stepson, Corey David Fulks; a stepdaughter, Amanda Fay; two brothers, Kenneth Danford of Florida and Byron Danford of Georgia; three sisters, Melaney Angle of Enigma, Sarah Giddens of Enigma and Sandra Danford of Macon; eight nephews, Toney Angle Jr., Matthew Angle, Andrew Angle, Michael Danford, Daniel Danford, Steven Angle, Joshua Angle and Nathanial Griffin; and three nieces, Brooklyn Danford, Charlotte Angle and Rachael Danford.

Arthur L. Avant
VALDOSTA — Arthur L. Avant, 67, of Valdosta, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville, with full military honors. The Rev. Norman Edwards will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Lovein Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 29, 1940, in Laurens County, Mr. Avant was the son of Nora Ann Irby Howard of Garfield, Ark., and the late Hoyt Spencer Avant.
A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Avant retired from the U.S. Army as an E-7 with 20 years’ service and was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was also a retired project manager with the civil service at Moody Air Force Base and was a member of the Nashville Post VFW.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Sue Kight Avant of Valdosta; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Alan and Michelle Avant of Nashville, Mark Avant of Valdosta and Neil and Tiffany Avant of Tifton; his stepfather, Braden Howard of Garfield, Ark.; a sister, Bethie Biffany of Garfield, Ark.; a brother, Ed J. Irby Jr. of Moultrie; and five grandchildren, Chase Padgett, Austin Avant, Christian Avant, Mason Avant and Samantha Avant.
