Timothy Ray

Dennard Sr.

REBECCA — Timothy Ray Dennard Sr. died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at his farm in Ben Hill County near Rebecca. The cause of death was an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Dennard was born in Macon and grew up in Gordon where he attended the public schools in Wilkinson County. He graduated from Gordon Military High School, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. After college, Mr. Dennard served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Dennard and his family lived in Macon for many years before moving to Mims, Fla., in 1982, where he became involved in real estate and construction. He started Continental Acreage Development Company and designed and developed Fawn Lake Subdivision in Mims.

In recent years, Mr. Dennard had spent a lot of time at Ivey Lakes Farm, a family farm located in Ben Hill and Wilcox counties. There he was involved in extensive reforestation and efforts to improve wildlife habitat.

Mr. Dennard was the son of Hoyt L. Dennard Sr. and Marjorie Bozeman Dennard, both now deceased. Hoyt Dennard was a teacher of vocational agriculture and later superintendent of schools in Wilkinson County and Marjorie Dennard was a reading specialist and later principal of Bergard School in Macon.

Mr. Dennard is survived by three sons, Timothy Ray Dennard Jr., James Shield Dennard, both of Mims, Fla., and Patrick Connors DeCarlo of Atlanta; one brother, Hoyt Lane Dennard Jr. of Atlanta; a sister, Rebecca Dennard Stewart of Fort Worth, Texas; a grandson, Jack Ryan DeCarlo of Atlanta; and a longtime family friend, Ruby R. Horne of Lizella.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Rebecca Methodist Church in Rebecca. After the service the family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lane Dennard, 1707 Dennard Road, Rochelle. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Foundation, Inc. for the Dennard Scholarship Fund at the following address: Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Foundation, Inc., 2802 Moore Highway, Tifton, GA 31793.

Clyde Hale

Clyde Hale, 75, of Tifton, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, with the Rev. N.C. Spradley officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Gary Hyde, Danny Dixon, Buck Dixon, Dalon Dotson, Jacob Hale and Jason Hale.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors- Tiftarea Chapel.

Mr. Hale was born March 29, 1929 in Cobb County. He was the son of Virgil Gene Hale and Ollie Vandora Long Hale, both deceased. He was a truck driver for Tifton Aluminum and lived in Tift County most of his life.

Mr. Hale was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Irene Dotson Hale; two sons, York Hale and Greg Hale, both of Tifton; three daughters, Daphine Dixon of Monroe, Shelia Sutton of Fullerton, Calif., and Kim Purvis of Omega; one brother, Albert Hale of Watkinsville; one sister, Murdell McCorvey of Nashville; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Sabrina ‘Bridgy’ Cone

TIFTON- Sabrina Brijet White Cone, 44, of Tifton, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, with Elder Jamie Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jim Corbean, Bill Heinold, Bill Bristol, Jeremy Jenson, Tony Dunfey, Louis Distasio, Mark Hand, Wayne Paramore and Dewayne Doepel.

Honorary pallbearers will be her Orgill family.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors- Tiftarea Chapel.

Ms. Cone was born June 17, 1960 in Tift County. She was the daughter of Hoyt White and Melba Adams White, both deceased. She was a transportation technician at Orgill and a member of the Baptist faith. She graduated from Tift County High School in 1979 and had lived in Tifton since 1992.

Ms. Cone is survived by two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Debbie and Hunter Davidson of Amarillo, Texas, and Dawn and Che’ Childre of Tifton; one niece, Brandi Brown of Amarillo; five nephews, Gene Brown, Chris Kelly, Joshua Childre, Jordan Childre and Griffin Childre, all of Tifton; and one great-aunt, Cara Anderson of Chula.

Erlene Story Thompson

TIFTON — Erlene Story Thompson, 85, of Tifton, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at Bradley Place.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Chris Ramsey and Dr. Fred Evers officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and the McCord Sunday School Class of Trinity United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors’ Tiftarea Chapel.

Born July 28, 1919, in Worth County, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of C.A. Story and Sallie McKenzie Story, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chesley Ralph Thompson Sr., who died in 2000, and to whom she was married for 61 years; an infant twin brother, a sister, Carmen S. Cowart, and a brother, Buren Story.

Mrs. Thompson had lived in Tift County most of her life and was a homemaker and a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She had been the fabric coordinator for Mary Lynn Fabrics, had been the manager of Fabrics, Inc., and retired as a custom framer at Stone’s, Inc.

She was past president and an active member of Willing Workers Home Demonstration Club. She served in several capacities at Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Thompson was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, C.R. and Myra Thompson of Chula; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarinelle and Albert Potts of Tifton and Norma and Trenton Davis of Macon; one brother, Lum Story of Albany; one sister, JoAn S. Fox of Asheville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Ches Thompson, Tamara Thompson Parlor, Chad Thompson, Chris Thompson, Alex Thompson, Kimberly Potts Chapman, Robin Potts, Al Potts, Trent Davis, Dana Davis Deas and Ashley Davis; and 14 great-grandchildren.
