Placing blame

“I see where 45 bodies were found, the older people in the hospital, that died in the hurricane in New Orleans. I can tell you who is responsible. It is George W. Bush. If you don’t believe it, you call any Democrat and talk to them and they will tell you it is George W. Of course the mayor and the governor aren’t responsible, because they didn’t have anybody there to tell them what to do. Let’s face it, we have to straighten old George out there because it was definitely his fault. Any Democrat will tell you that.”

What’s the problem?

“If the noise is so much out at the fairgrounds, what is the problem? Is it because it is Spanish music that has been going on? They don’t complain when there is anything else going on.”

Where can they go?

“Give them a break. Everyone is complaining about the cruising at the mall and now it is the noise at the fairgrounds. Where would you like for them to go without being harassed by the law for being teen-agers? Come on.”

Evening was ruined

“This is for ‘Remember to tip.’ Recently my wife and I dined at one of Tifton’s well-known restaurants. The service was OK and I left a 15 percent tip. However, the filet mignon, the skewer of shrimp and scallops were so salty that I could not eat it. I considered sending it back; however, this would have caused a waiting period to resolve the issue and my wife would have her food getting cold. What should I have done? Stiff the server? No, it wasn’t her fault. Call the manager? The result was the evening was ruined.”

Don’t ask for tip

“This is in response to ‘Remember to tip.’ I believe I have dined at this restaurant before. Usually they bring your bill in a folded envelope-type thing and I have laid a $100 bill in there before and the waitress has had the rudeness and audacity to say ‘Do you need your change?’ It would be nice to have a server that would bring your change back to you and then maybe you would leave 20 percent.”

ID source

“This call is for the reader who was saying that her 14-year-old didn’t have a learner’s permit to have identification to get into the game. She can go to the Georgia State Patrol office and get a Georgia identification card for $10. That’s what I did for my child who is under 14.”

Where credit is due

“Regarding the rant that the City of Norman Park had thrown its doors open to the evacuees, the City of Norman Park did not do it. It was the Georgia Baptist Assembly Conference Center, which is owned and operated by the Georgia Baptist Convention. So, it was a religious organization and not the government of Norman Park. The City of Tifton could do it but right now we are not overwhelmed and inundated with evacuees. A side note: Liberals are upset with the fact that they were called refugees. They wanted to be called evacuees. Actually, the dictionary says that a refugee is someone who is homeless as a result of war or a natural disaster. Are they refugees? I think so.”

Wonderful program

“I would like to rave for Steve Hamlin and the Zion Hope Baptist Choir for their rendering of a wonderful patriotic program at church for Patriots Day.”
