William Earnest Dixon
TIFTON – William Earnest Dixon, 76, of Tifton, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at New River Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Layfield will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
Deacons of New River Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born Oct. 9, 1926, in LaGrange, Mr. Dixon was the son of Ernest Dixon and Pearl Morris Denham, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cook Dixon, who died in 1997, and by three brothers and two sisters.
He was retired from the Air Force and was a member of New River Baptist Church.
Mr. Dixon is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Sheila Dixon of Tifton and Victor L. Dixon of Atlanta; two daughters, Marjorie L. Dixon of South Korea and Renee Clary of Merritt Island, Fla.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
Faye L. Jones
NORMAN PARK – Faye L. Jones, 88, of Norman Park, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church. Elder Homer Benefield, the Rev. Danny Smith and the Rev. Tommy McDonald will officiate. Burial will follow at Omega Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ted Norman, David Norman, Terry Norman, Louie Norman, Steve Jones and Curtis Crawford.
Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie. The family may be contacted at the home of Ethel J. Norman, 109 Matthew Road, Norman Park, Ga. 31771.
Born Nov. 11, 1914, in Coweta County, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Edna Golden. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Columbus Jones.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist faith.
Mrs. Jones is survived by one son, James Curtis Jones of Moultrie; two daughters, Ethel J. Norman of Norman Park and Mary Frances Dean of Moultrie; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
