Henry Daniel Mauldin Jr.
TY TY–Henry Daniel Mauldin Jr., 81, of Ty Ty, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. The Rev. Danny Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Nephews Horace Salter, Lenward Davis, David Davis, Jerry McKellar, Steve Gray and Larry Hartsfield will serve as pallbearers. Other nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Mauldin was born Jan. 11, 1924, in Hillsborough County, Plant City, Fla. He was the son of Henry Daniel Mauldin Sr., and Liza Elizabeth Powell Mauldin, both deceased. He was a retired butcher for Lykes Packing, a member of First Baptist Church of Ty Ty and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II.
Mr. Mauldin is survived by his wife, Doris Eloise Davis Mauldin of Ty Ty; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dannie and Susan Mauldin of Tifton and Clay and Melody Mauldin of Chula; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Larry Cooper of Sylvester, Diane and Wayne Burdette of Ty Ty and Doris and Gene Malcom of Lake Blackshear; two brothers, Bill Mauldin of Moultrie and Willie Mauldin of High Springs, Fla.; a sister, Delcie Sutton of Quitman; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Barfield Fisher
BREVARD, N.C.–Mary Louise Barfield Fisher, 68, of Brevard, died Sunday, March 27, 2005.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. The Rev. Gary Thompson and the Rev. Gary Fisher will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Fisher was born Sept. 28, 1936. Her parents were the late Collis Remer Martin, Sara Lucille Coppage Martin and Lena Belle Martin. Mrs. Fisher was a homemaker and a member of the Brevard, N.C., Church of God. She was also preceded in death by one stepson, Evoy Fisher.
She is survived by her husband, J.B. Fisher of Brevard, N.C.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Denise Goff of Lawrenceville, Rhonda and Lloyd Webb of Austell; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Gary and Beverly Fisher of Thomasville, N.C.; one stedaughter, Carolyn Merrill of Greenville, S.C.; 12 grandchildren, Joey Goff, Jessica Webb, Jennifer Webb, Shannon Merrill, Kevin Merrill, Travis Merrill, Jenny Fisher, Aaron Fisher, Dawn Fisher, Sara Fisher, Eve Fisher and April Fisher; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James E. and Vivian Martin of Valdosta, Collis Raymond and Oveta Martin of Fernandina Beach, Fla., John G. and Nell Martin of Valdosta; and one sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Royce Wiggins of Valdosta.

TIFTON — Wallace Turner Sr., 75, of Tifton, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Pat Hale and the Rev. James Tyson officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Grove Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors – Tiftarea Chapel.
Brian Turner, Randy Turner, David Turner, Gary Dewayne Turner, Rusty Turner and Justin Culbertson will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Turner was born May 20, 1929, in Calhoun County, Ala., the son of Grady Dela Turner and Essie Mae Angel Turner, both deceased. He was preceded in death also by his wife, Elizabeth Irene Ledford Turner, three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Turner was a longtime resident of Tifton. He was a retired truck driver. He attended Barnes Chapel Full Gospel Church and had been a member of Four Square Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed fishing, stock car racing, and driving a truck.
Surviving Mr. Turner are four sons, Wallace Turner Jr., Tifton, Harold Rufus Turner, Orlando, Fla., John Gary Turner, Tifton, and Archie Leon Turner, Tifton; five brothers, Fred A. Turner, Heflin, Ala., James O. Turner, Anniston, Ala., Charles E. Turner, Musella, Jerry L. Turner, Fitzgerald, and Bobby R. Turner, Tifton; one sister, Jane Duren, Tifton; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Dr. Thomas Rudolph Milam
TIFTON — Dr. Thomas Rudolph Milam, 83, of Tifton died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Tifton with the Rev. Jay Roberson and the Rev. Jerry Lillard officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Chandler, Dr. Ronald Faircloth, Tommy Fresh, Dr. Albert Gibbs, Emory Giles, Dr. Hal Henderson, Dr. Gary Roberts, Tyron Spearman, Mark Thompson, Dr. Homer Day and Dr. Wasdon Graydon.
Dr. Milam was born in Henderson County, Tenn., on Aug. 15, 1921. He was the son of Calvin O. and Hattie Johnson Milam of Lexington, Tenn., both deceased. He was preceded in death also by one brother, Oran Calvin Milam III.
Dr. Milam earned B.S., M.A., and ED. degrees in education. He had an active career in education, having served as elementary, junior high and high school principals as well as county superintendent of public instruction, all in Panama City, Fla. While living in Panama City, Dr. Milam also served as a city commissioner from 1955 to 1961, and he was U.S. Deputy Collector of Customs for the ports of Panama City and Port St. Joe, Fla. Dr. Milam and his family moved to Tifton in 1968 where he served at Abraham Baldwin College as chairman of the social sciences division and coordinator of federal programs until his retirement in 1986. He was also an active consultant to many other colleges and universities during his career. Dr. Milam served on the Tift County Board of Tax Assessors from 1973 until 2003. After his retirement from ABAC, he was active in real estate until his death.
Dr. Milam served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Masonic and Shrine organizations. He was a member of Springhill Country Club and the First United Methodist Church of Tifton.
Surviving Dr. Milam are his wife, Sara Jeane Milam, whom he married on January 17, 1942; one son and his wife, John Thomas and Bonnie Hamilton Milam of Columbus; one daughter, Deborah Jeane Milam of Tifton; one grandson and his wife, John Thomas Jr., and Sandra Adams Milam of Valdosta; one great-grandson, John Thomas Milam III; and four sisters, Inez Milam, Maye Beck and Rita Burgess, all of Memphis, Tenn., and Dora Milam of Panama City Beach, Fla.

TIFTON — Margaret Gibbs Manaugh, 75, of Tifton died Friday, March 25, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with Dr. Fred Evers officiating. Burial will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Jacob DeBurger, Jeffrey Wiggins, Rob Hudson, Chris Manaugh and Gabe DeBurger will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors – Tiftarea Chapel.
Ms. Manaugh was born July 4, 1929, in Tift County to William O. Gibbs and Ressie Liles Gibbs, both deceased. She was preceded in death also by her first husband, Ernest Burnum Jr., who died in 1956, and her second husband, Neil Manaugh, who died in 1996; one son, Wade Manaugh; two brothers; and one sister.
Ms. Manaugh had lived in Tift County all of her life. She was the owner of Manaugh’s Nursery and Flowers. She contributed to many local events by providing free of charge plants and flowers for their use. In 2002 she was awarded the “Readers’ Choice” Award for Landscaping by readers of the Tifton Gazette. She was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church.
Surviving Ms. Manaugh are one son, John Manaugh, Columbus, Ind; one daughter, Mimi DeBurger, Ocala, Fla.; two brothers, Donald R. Gibbs, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Randall K. Gibbs, Powder Springs; three sisters, Pauline Thrasher, Marietta, Dorris Hayman, Hendersonville, N.C., and Myra Wiggins, Tifton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
