Steven Ward Glenn

TIFTON — Steven Ward Glenn, 51, of Tifton, formerly of Bradenton, Fla., died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors. The Rev. Mike Johnson will officiate.

Born April 14, 1950, in Bradenton, Fla., Mr. Glenn was the son of William Frederick Glenn Jr. and Patricia Ann Meacham Glenn, both deceased.

He was a turf grass superintendent for Tifton Golf Services and was a member of the Episcopal faith.

A resident of Tifton for 15 years, Mr. Glenn also served in the U.S. Army with two tours of duty in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Arvie Glenn of Keystone Heights, Fla.; one sister, Dr. Barbara G. Covington of San Antonio, Texas; three nephews; and one niece.

Jo Hogan

ENIGMA — Emma Joyce (Jo) Peak Hogan, 56, of Enigma, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home. Burial followed at Tift Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Larry Crumley, Bobby Metts, Jason Griffin, William Brooks, Bennie Goddard and Kenneth Pearson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dalton Hayes, James Peters, Bill Ray, Charles Rowe, Ottis Stone, Ronald Stone, Donnie Pearson, Ken Holyoak, Jason Holyoak and Jimmy Akins.

Born May 2, 1945 in Randolph County, Mrs. Hogan was the daughter of Perry Daniel Peak and Bernie Faye Peak Jarrett and her stepfather James Frank Jarrett, all deceased. She was a housewife and was a member of Barnes Chapel in Enigma. Mrs. Hogan graduated from Moultrie Tech with a degree in computer science. She was also a Sunday School teacher and song leader at Barnes Chapel and was a volunteer with the Alapaha Head Start program. She lived in Enigma for 30 years.

Mrs. Hogan is survived by her husband, Thomas Lamar Hogan of Enigma; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Clinton Hogan and his wife Wendy of Tifton and Terry Lamar Hogan and his wife Jenn of Dixie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Evangela Hogan Hampton and her husband Gary of Tifton and Marie Hogan Lastinger and her husband Karl of Springfield; a special nephew, Randy Wells, his wife Sherri and their children Brad, Jonathan and Brandi Wells of Alapaha; six grandchildren, John Hampton, Michael and Evan Lastinger, Tyler and Hannah Hogan and Heather Cole.

Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.



David Paul Young

TY TY — David Paul Young, 64, of Ty Ty, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at New River Holiness Church. The Rev. A. D. Connell will officiate. Burial will follow at New River Holiness Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Young, Barry Young, Tom Young, Jerry Conway, Danny Conway, Jeff Jackson and Buddy Terry.

Born Nov. 21, 1937, in Cook County, Mr. Young was the son of Tom Young and Gertrude Jones Young, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Angie Hellwig; two sisters, Betty Terry and Sara Conway; and one brother, Jackie Young.

Mr. Young was retired and was a member of New River Holiness Church.

He is survived by three sons, Keith Young of Ty Ty, David Young of Tifton and Ricky Young of Ruskin, Fla.; three daughters, Amy Wright of Hawaii, Paulette Kinsaul of Raleigh, N.C., and Brenda Shearer of Ruskin, Fla.; two brothers, Joseph Young of Flint, Mich., and Roy Young of Enigma; three sisters, Mary B. Hall of Hosford, Fla., Winnie F. Rowan of Nashville and Wava Slade of Brandon, Miss.; and three grandchildren, Jasmine Wright, Jaqueez Wright and Johnna Young.

Sue Cato Jordan

FITZGERALD — Sue Cato Jordan, 53, of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald. Dr. Gene Wild

Born Oct. 23, 1948, in Americus, Mrs. Jordan was the daughter of Thet Smith Cato of Bainbridge and the late Elbert Cato.

Raised in Americus, she had lived in Fitzgerald since 1969. Mrs. Jordan was a homemaker and a member of Fitzgerald First Baptist Church, where she was the secretary and a Sunday School teacher for the youth department.

Along with her mother, she is survived by her husband, Howard Jordan of Fitzgerald; two sons, Troy Jordan and Chad Jordan, both of Augusta; and two sisters, Kay Melvin of Dawson and Linda Thompson of Tifton.
