COOK COUNTY — Four of the eight passengers in a Ford F-150 involved in a Friday accident have been released from Tift Regional Medical Center.

The accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Friday on Old Union Road west of Lenox.

According to a spokesman at Georgia State Patrol Post 13 in Tifton, Walter Harvey Powell, Jr., 21, of Omega, was driving his 2001 Ford F-150 Friday when he failed to stop at stop sign. The truck traveled into the ditch and struck a tree. The truck rotated clockwise and struck several smaller trees on the driver’s side before coming to a stop.

Powell and four passengers were transported to Tift Regional Medical Center.
