TIFTON — Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents are currently investigating the death of a Tifton resident.

The Tifton Police Department requested the aid of the bureau following their discovery of Larry Johnson, 68, dead at a residence on Birch Drive Thursday. It was determined at the scene that Johnson had died from a gunshot wound.

Johnson’s body was taken to the Macon Crime Lab, where an autopsy indicated that no foul play had occurred.

The Bureau of Investigation has reported that the investigation is active and ongoing.
