Lady Devils fall in region play-in game

MOULTRIE — The 2024-25 basketball season of the Tift County Lady Devils came to an end Monday night with Colquitt County winning the Region 1-6A play-in game, 56-47.

The loss means that for the first time since 2010, a state tournament will not feature the Lady Devils. Tift finishes with a 10-15 record.

Tift trailed 30-18 at halftime. Mackenzie Holliday scored 18 and Amiya Jordan netted 15, career highs for both players. Jalaya Miller scored 10 points. Miller finishes the season with a team-high 334 points and barely missed scoring a career 1,000, amassing 954.

In Monday’s other Region 1 play-in game, Richmond Hill defeated Valdosta, 46-35. Camden County will face Colquitt and Lowndes will take on Richmond Hill Wednesday in the semifinals at Camden.
