TIFTON — Cars were damaged by a fire Saturday during the community’s Rhythm and Ribs festival.

Tifton Fire Chief Bobby Bennett said the fire happened in an empty lot on Sixth Street and Tift Avenue, which is about a block from Fulwood Park, where the festival was being held.

Several cars were burned before the fire was put out.

Bennett said firefighters did not yet know what caused the fire, and the investigation is continuing.
