Various Tift County schools honored with PBIS operational school status

- Representatives of county elementary, middle, and the high school were honored for their institutions achieving the status of PBIS operational school, acknowledging and honoring their schools' commitment to creating a positive learning environment for their students.
TIFTON — Tift County Schools institutions across all levels of education were recently honored by the Board of Education after achieving status as PBIS operational schools.
Board members congratulated the efforts of several of their schools during their March 13 meeting for their exceptional work in securing that distinction, presenting a representative of each recognized school with a certificate to honor the accomplishment.
Charles Spencer, G.O. Bailey, J.T. Reddick, Len Lastinger, and Matt Wilson Elementary, Eighth Street and Northeast Middle, and Tift County High School were the institutions that attained the status.

Beth Sellars, Tift County Schools director of academic support, explained that the title of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports operational school was granted to schools that went to great lengths to support and encourage positive behavior among their student bodies, which would in turn help improve the academic performance of those students.
She expressed her gratitude to the representatives of each school for all of their hard work in nurturing a positive learning environment at their schools.
