Tift County hosts third weekday track meet

TIFTON — Tift County track hosted six other schools March 19 in its third of four weekday home events.
The meet was mostly a chance for the Blue Devils to use the full depth of the roster to compete against other schools and get times and distances in events that may not have been the usual ones for some of the athletes.
Ja’Quaywinn Pettiford was one of the beneficiaries of this time, winning the 400 meters in 51.51 seconds.
Also finishing in the top eight for Tift were:
Girls 100 hurdles: Aziyah Lockett (2nd) and Skye Perry (7th).
Boys 110 hurdles: Cnardarian Walker (2nd) and Benjamin Walker (7th).
Girls 400: Ja’Mayah Romer (3rd).
Boys 800: Emmanuel Gonzalez-Huerta (4th), Henry Anderson (5th) and Glenn Nelson (8th).
Girls 800: Bailey Brock (2nd).
Boys 1,600: Hatcher Swanson (3rd).
Girls 1,600: Brock (3rd).
Boys 4×200: 5th and 7th.
Boys 4×800: 1st and 2nd.
Boys discus: Rylan Pearman (5th), Mason Montesano (6th) and Jamison Akins (8th).
Girls discus: Akele Brown (5th).
Boys high jump: Jarvis Howard and Jalen White (tied for 3rd), and Myron McTear (5th).
Girls long jump: A’myriona McTear (4th).
Boys shot put: Cayden Dawson (3rd), Zacarius Paulk (4th) and Coy Reade (7th).
Girls shot put: Debraysia Doward (6th).
Boys triple jump: Kamari Holloman (6th).
