TIFTON — Lester L. Cromer Jr. was leading the Tifton City Council District 3 race Tuesday night in the 2021 municipal general election.

The election was held to determine new council members for District 1 and District 3.

District 1 was uncontested with only one candidate, Denny Joshua Reynolds, while District 3 had three: Cromer, Sherrod Thompson and write-in incumbent Johnny Terrell.

In the District 1 election, Reynolds received 260 votes with no write-ins reported.

Cromer led the District 3 competition with 87 to Thompson’s 16. Terrell received 20 votes, while a single write-in ballot was determined unresolved.

Election results are not official until certified Friday.
