Suspect arrested in June shooting death

TIFTON — One person has been arrested in connection with the June shooting death of Dajoun Custis, according to the Tifton Police Department.
Tyler Makel Alexander, 20, of Fitzgerald was arrested Sept. 3 and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault, according to the statement from the TPD.
Tifton Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Newton Drive in reference to a person being shot and found Custis, 20, of Tifton suffering from a gunshot wound. Custis was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
TPD detectives are still actively investigating the case.
