TIFTON — Tift County’s swim teams began their year with a double victory Saturday at their own pool. The teams combined for 475 points, more than double of second place Camden County. The Lady Devils, who scored 262 points, had more than all of their opponents combined (246). It was slightly closer for the Blue Devils, who had 213 to second place Camden’s 156.

Tift’s Lady Devils won eight of 12 events.

Nine schools participated, including Tiftarea Academy and everyone but Richmond Hill from Region 1-6A.

Scoring for Tift were:

— Boys 200 medley relay: Aiden Thrasher, Brayden Rowland, Chase Walker and Karson Ponder (2nd); Rocky Faw, Landon Parrish, James Fresh and Brock Alexion (3rd); and Ethan Van Orman, Larkin Saylor, Mitchell Kunes and Jay Ross (7th).

— Girls 200 medley relay: Anna Lupo, Brianna Domagala, Brynna Burke and Mary Frances Dove (1st); Kendall Sasser, Raylee Walker, Abby Lupo and Jovia Burke (2nd); and Savannah White, Bailey Brock, Stella Byrnes and Hannah Grace Murphy (6th).

— Boys 200 freestyle: Walker (2nd), Saylor (3rd), Ponder (4th), Trey Dorminey (5th), Jace Howell (7th) and Nolan Miller (8th).
