TIFTON- Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House has begun accepting donations for their Suitcases for Children program.

Nancy Bryan, executive director of Ruth’s Cottage and Patticake House is asking for donations such as luggage suitcases, Christmas presents to go to children in need.

According to Bryan, one of agency founders, Patti Stafford, became aware of foster children being moved from place to place with their belongings being put in trash bags. This sparked Stafford to initiate the Suitcases for Children program.

“She [Stafford] wanted foster children to have a personal suitcase and to basic items they need plus fun things for Christmas,” Bryan Said.

Bryan said the program has served approximately 5625 overall in the 16 years they have been doing this. A number they hope to continue increasing as the program continues according to Bryan.
