Warm feet, warm hearts

Take a second and stretch your toes.

Curl them forward.

Feel that?

Socks.

The bane of childhood presents and the delight of adulthood presents.

Socks.

Like a hug for your feet.

Socks.

It’s easy to take them for granted, the crisp feel of pulling on a fresh pair of socks before heading out in the morning.

It’s easy to forget about them, unless you don’t have them.

Socks are easy to overlook in clothing donations. Perhaps that’s why they have a clothing drive of their own.

Donations are being accepted for the annual “Sock It To ‘Em With Love” sock drive.

We encourage our readers – and all of Tift County — to support the drive.

Tift County Commissioner Melissa Hughes, who started and heads up the drive, said that the idea came to her when she saw children walking to school in the winter with no socks.

Donations are being accepted ahead of the Feb. 8 distribution at Copeland Park.

Donations can be dropped off at the Charles Kent Building Commissioner’s Office and the Tiftarea YMCA.
