GBI investigating body found with ‘multiple gunshot wounds’

TIFTON – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a body found with “multiple gunshot wounds,” according to a GBI press release.
On Jan. 24, the Tifton Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive male at a residence in the 0-100 block of Eastgate Drive, the release states.
“Once officers arrived, they discovered Michael Riggins, age 34, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” according to the release.
Riggins was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation remains active and ongoing with leads being pursued by both GBI agents and Tifton Police investigators.
Riggins’ body was transported to the GBI Macon Crime Lab where an autopsy will be performed.
