TIFTON — Next Monday, Nov. 11, at Baldwin Drive Aquatic Center a lucky ducky will make someone a very lucky ducky in the return of Tift County Schools’ swim teams’ fundraiser, the Ducktona 300.

The duck race was originally scheduled for Thursday, but head coach Ivey Vickers announced it would be pushed back a few days because of bad weather.

Ducktona 300 won’t be the only event going on Monday.

Tift Middle will have a meet at the pool beginning at 2 p.m. Ducktona’s silent auction is set for 6-7 p.m. Tift County High swim seniors will be recognized at 6:15 p.m. and race itself will be at 7 p.m.

Vickers said there will be a wide variety of items available for the silent auction. Among the many, many, many items being auctioned are a fish cooker, golf packages from Spring Hill Country Club, gift certificates to many local restaurants and fitness packages for Southern Bodies and KPeele. TCHS’ CTAE classes will have their handiwork. RV South has provided a camping basket and there will be many items from American Textile.

Those are just the start of what is available for bidding, Vickers said.

In addition, Taqueria Hermanos Chavez will have its food truck on site.
