THOMASVILLE — Thomas County Central is going to remember Caitlyn Burgess. The Tift County senior lit them up for 36 points Saturday afternoon in Tift County’s 71-57 victory.

The Blue Devils fell in a 44-29 battle to TCC, their second consecutive loss.

Head coach Julie Conner-Johnson said Burgess’ stat line also included eight steals, three rebounds and two assists.

The points are the most for any Lady Devil in at least a decade. She is averaging 17.14 points for game in 2023-24 and Tift has an 11-3 record. They are MaxPreps’ No. 3 team in Class 6A. TCC is ranked No. 11. Veterans, the team the Lady Devils defeated Friday, is No. 6.The Atlanta Journal-Constitution ranks Tift No. 8 in 6A.

Tift traveled to Houston County Tuesday and travels to Northside (Warner Robins) Friday.
