A middle infielder and pitcher, Hall currently leads the Panthers with a .364 average. He has scored 16 runs on the season and has driven in seven more. Sixteen runs also tops the squad. On the mound, he has recorded two saves.
Head coach Chance Benson said, “No one deserves it (the scholarship) more than Grant.”
Being a first year head coach, Benson said it was players like Hall who made the transition easy.
“I couldn’t ask for a better group of seniors,” he said. “It’s fitting [Hall] plays for a region championship Wednesday.”
Hall drove in two sixth inning runs against Deerfield-Windsor April 17 and earned a save on the mound in a 3-2 win, one that put the Panthers a game up in the Region 3-AAA title race. Deerfield won Friday for a share of the region lead and forcing an extra championship game to be played this week.
During Hall’s junior season, he hit .347 and scored 34 runs. As a sophomore, he hit .358.
