Tift falls to TCC

TIFTON — A four-run fourth inning helped propel the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets to a 6-3 win over Tift County Tuesday.
It was Senior Night for Tift County, who honored Jack Lambert, Keshaun Mays, Ethan Rucker, Blake Webb and Keenan Webb before the game. All five players started for the Blue Devils, Keenan Webb on the mound.

After three scoreless innings by both teams, TCC posted four runs in the fourth.
Slade Taylor doubled to start the frame and Tyler Carter was hit by a pitch. A balk cost Tift a base before a wild pitch scored Taylor.
The Yellow Jackets picked up their second run on a single by Bently Green, who later came around on a single by Carson Odom. Mack McDowell, who was hit by a pitch, became the fourth run on a throwing error during a pick-off attempt.
TCC added their fifth run in the fifth on a single by Ryan Delaney and they added one last tally in the sixth.
The Blue Devils scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to cut the score to 5-2. Will Weeks came across after an error off the bat of Mays and an another error scoring Lambert on a double steal.
Tift loaded the bases in the sixth. An error put Keenan Webb on and Blake Webb and Weeks followed with singles. Their final run came from Keenan Webb, who scored on a grounder by Rucker.
