TIFTON — The City of Tifton has declared the period of June 10 to June 14 Municipal Court Clerks Week.

During the June 3 city council meeting, Mayor Julie Smith announced that the following week would be dedicated to the hard work performed by the community’s municipal court clerks.

In a proclamation declaring the week’s establishment, she praised the efforts of the clerks in helping to maintain the integrity and impartiality of the municipal courts and conveying that rectitude to the residents of Tifton.

Smith also extended her appreciation for the court clerks of Tifton, including chief court clerk Gail Drayton, who was present to receive the proclamation, and encouraged residents in the community to offer their gratitude to the court clerks during the upcoming week.
