Letter to the Editor: Giving thanks for Stay in School Rally supporters

Dear editor,

On Saturday, August 3, 2019, Mims Kids, Inc. hosted over 200 Tift County school students at its 8th Annual Stay in School Rally.

The event featured motivational speeches by Superintendent Adam Hathaway, High School Principal Kim Seigler and Tift County High alumnus and City of Tifton employee Brandon Howard.

Lunch was provided for the students and 15 vendors set up tables that provided the students with information about community resources, extracurricular activities and opportunities for volunteering.

Each high school student was given school supplies. Backpacks filled with school supplies were given to middle school and elementary school students. The students were given raffle tickets that allowed them to win door prizes throughout the day. The event was a huge success!
