Rain costs another softball game

TIFTON – Another day, another softball game cancelled because of rain.
Wednesday afternoon saw Tift County and Worth County all set to go for a softball game in Tifton. The 5:30 p.m. start was first delayed by lightning. At 5:45 p.m., the skies opened completely, dropping an ocean’s worth of water on the field.

No makeup day has been discussed yet for the teams. Tift will play road games Friday as part of the Watermelon Invitational in Cordele.
Tuesday, a brief but intense shower flooded Tiftarea’s softball infield, costing them an opportunity to play Deerfield-Windsor.
