TIFTON — The Tift County swim teams have already started back up, doing so with considerable success last Saturday at the Savannah Chatham County Public School System Invitational.

The Lady Devils finished second at the event, with the Blue Devils third, according to head coach Ivey Vickers.

Tift County saved its best for last in Savannah.

The 400 freestyle relays, the last race of the day for the teams, featured a pair of second place finishes.

Olivia Thomas, Lauren Stone, Stephanie Connell and Claire Ryland combined for second place as did Jacob Harper, Samuel Lawson, Tracy Blanchard and Jacob Redd.

The Devils and Lady Devils had a handful of other top five performances for the day.

Redd finished third in the 200 individual medley, as did Lauren Stone in the 500 freestyle, Harper in the 50 freestyle, the 200 medley relay team of Casey Hall, Thomas, Ryland and Ansley Mobley and the 200 freestyle relay team of Stone, Connell, Hall and Mobley.

Fourth place went to Mary Grace White in the 100 freestyle and Mobley in the 500 freestyle.

Fifth places were won for the Lady Devils by Stone in the 200 freestyle, Ryland in the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke, Hall in the 500 freestyle and the combination of Ashlee Golden, Riley Roberts, Karina Delgado and Sophia Fisher in the 400 freestyle relay.

Devils winning fifth were Blanchard in the 100 butterfly, and the 200 freestyle relay team, composed of Harper, Dylan Coker, Logan Ewing and Tyler Coker.

Boys 200 medley relay: Redd, Lawson, Blanchard and Tyler Coker (6th) and Spencer Shaw, Bryce McDaniel, Dylan Coker and Ewing (14th).

Girls 200 medley relay: Lawson, White, Fisher and Golden (9th).

Boys 200 freestyle: Caleb Rice (11th), Tyler Coker (12th), Ewing (15th) and Lee Hancock (16th).

Girls 200 freestyle: Mobley (6th), Golden (7th) and Delgado (15th).

Boys 200 individual medley: Lawson (7th), Dylan Coker (9th) and Andrew Chitwood (12th).

Girls 200 individual medley: Thomas (6th). Lawson (8th) and Fisher (10th).

Boys 50 freestyle: Blanchard (6th).

Boys 100 butterfly: Redd (8th).

Girls 100 butterfly: Connell (8th) and Fisher (16th).

Boys 100 freestyle: Harper (6th), Tyler Coker (14th) and Dylan Coker (15th).

Girls 100 freestyle: Golden (12th).

Boys 500 freestyle: Bryce McDaniel (6th).

Girls 500 freestyle: Lawson (6th).

Girls 200 freestyle relay: White, Lawson, Hannah Walker and Roberts (8th).

Boys 100 backstroke: Shaw (12th).

Girls 100 backstroke: Hall (6th) and Connell (7th).

Boys 100 breaststroke: Lawson (10th).

Girls 100 breaststroke: Thomas (6th), White (7th) and Roberts (14th).

Boys 400 freestyle relay: Bryce McDaniel, Rice, Hancock and Shaw (9th) and Tyler Knight, Connor Stephen, Austin McDaniel and Chitwood (14th).

Tift has a meet at the Darton swim facility Saturday as part of the Trojan Invitational, hosted by Lee County. Tift will be going back to the same facility Jan. 20 to compete in the region championship. Only the Last Chance Meet will remain after that for swimmers needing to qualify for state.

State will be Feb. 2-4 at Georgia Tech.
