TIFTON — For residents looking to stay on top of their nutrition, The Shake Place is eager to offer a helping hand.

The nutritional beverage shop held a ribbon-cutting ceremony recently to celebrate its opening the previous week and kick off the start of the business.

Focusing on health and wellness for its customers, The Shake Place offers a variety of alimentary beverages from protein meal replacement shakes and super energy tea to probiotic or energy jello shots.

Hanna Curles, owner and a former Tifton resident who has returned to town, said the name for her business came from her and her family’s time living in Leesburg, where her son would only refer to the local nutrition business, 229 Takeover Nutrition, as “The Shake Place.”

“I’ve been dabbling with health products since 2018 – I actually was a distributor then. I just never really wanted to open a storefront until now,” Curles said. “We lived in Leesburg for years and just moved back to Tifton and I just thought, ‘What better time than now?’” Curles said she hopes to expand her business moving ahead, not only building a foundation in her current establishment but starting new locations where she believes her services and shakes will be helpful and appreciated.

The Shake Place is located at 919 W. 20th St., and is open 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
