Published 10:07 am Wednesday, December 11, 2024

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Tifton Judicial Circuit District Attorney Bryce A. Johnson on his untimely passing at the age of 52.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 2004, Mr. Johnson was first elected as district attorney of the Tifton Circuit, covering Irwin, Tift, Turner and Worth counties, in 2020, and he was re-elected without opposition last month to what would have been his second term. He began his career as an assistant district attorney for the Oconee Judicial Circuit and later as an associate with the Carter & Richbourg law firm, as assistant solicitor general for Tift County and solicitor-general for Worth County and the towns of Norman Park, Doerun and Lenox prior to his election as district attorney.

Bryce Johnson’s distinguished career of service is an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers. We are appreciative of his many contributions to the legal profession and justice system of our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Ivy N. Cadle

President, State Bar of Georgia
