MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Colquitt County Grand Jury term heavy with drug cases included indictments for two men involved in a March police pursuit in which the driver sped down a busy highway against oncoming traffic and through a parking lot before coming to a stop with a violent collision with another driver.
The March 17 pursuit started when the driver, identified as William Lee Poole, was recognized behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer by officers with the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office’s Drug Enforcement Team.
When the driver took the Explorer into the north-bound lanes of Veterans Parkway at the Southern Regional Technical College exit while speeding south the officers ended the chase.
