TIFTON — The City of Tifton has recently become home to a new take on Tex-Mex cuisine with the grand opening of Camole Mexican Grill.

Opening its doors Jan. 2, the restaurant marked joining the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

While the traditional fully customizable ordering commonly seen in Tex-Mex restaurants is employed for in-house dining, Camole also aims to offer customers easier and quicker dining experiences in the form of a simplified drive-thru menu.

“Most Tex-Mex places, it’s just inside dining. We wanted to be a little more authentic, but the biggest thing for us is those Tex-Mex flavors through the drive-thru,” said Austin DeLoach, manager. “People can come inside and they can customize their food however they want it, just like a normal Tex-Mex, but they can also come through the drive-thru, where the options are set, so if you’re on lunch or supper, you can get through fast, if you’d like to.”

Camole also employs an online ordering service, allowing customers to personalize their orders ahead of time and pick them up inside or at the drive-thru.

While the business was a bit quiet with its grand opening, it has gone all out celebrating the ribbon cutting. Camole plans to hold a rotation of weekly specials, a different special each day.

Mondays will provide a 15% discount off of online orders, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays will focus on combo deals for tacos, burritos, nachos and burrito bowls respectively and Thursdays will add a small quest to every combo. On Sundays, kids will eat free, with purchase of a regular combo, the owner said.

Camole Mexican Grill is located at 814 W. 2nd St., and is open 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
