TIFTON — Though initially reluctant to offer approval, city council members gave the green light to the rezoning for Redbird Mobile Home Park at their most recent meeting.
The approved plan will allow property owners Jay Zhang and Annie Yan to remove the planned unit overlay from the mobile home park, thereby granting the two owners and their tenants the freedom to modify and renovate their units.
Council members first denied the reclassification in February, disapproving of the poor condition of the park and its units, but steadily grew more receptive to the plan as the owners made more of an effort to improve the state of the property, leading to a 60-day postponement in March to give Zhang and Yan more time to implement further changes.
At their workshop meeting earlier this month, both councilman M. Jay Hall and Mayor Julie Smith expressed satisfaction with the condition of the property.
These sentiments were carried over to their most recent meeting, where the council members once again stated how impressed they were with the improvements to the mobile home park, and felt confident in granting Zhang and Yan the reclassification they had requested.
