Tift students graduate from LaGrange
LAGRANGE — Tifton-area students graduated at LaGrange College’s 190th commencement.
They are Nicole Phillips, bachelor of science in biochemistry, and Ryan Ross, master of arts in strength & conditioning.
Tift students inducted into honor society
AMERICUS — Georgia Southwestern State University’s chapter for Beta Gamma Sigma held an induction ceremony followed by a reception honoring new members.
Twenty-four students were officially inducted into BGS including Rachel Dunn and Pamela Morris, both of Tifton.
Georgia College awards degrees
MILLEDGEVILLE — Dr. Steve Dorman, president of Georgia College, has awarded degrees to the graduating class of May 2021.
Tift Area students include Emily Futch, Kierra Richardson and Calhoun Vickers.
Students named to president’s list
MILLEDGEVILLE – Students completed courses with exemplary marks and made the president’s list for the spring semester at Georgia College. Students who make a term average of 4.0 on 12 or more semester hours at Georgia College are included on the president’s list.
Tift County-area students include Karla Rodriguez, Emily Futch and Calhoun Vickers.

MILLEDGEVILLE – Several students completed courses with exemplary marks and made the dean’s list for the spring semester at Georgia College. Students who make a term average of at least 3.5 on 12 or more semester hours at Georgia College are named to the dean’s list.
Tift County-area students include Jarod Beeman, Tierra Richardson and Kierra Richardson.
Georgia State names president’s list
ATLANTA — To be eligible for the president’s list, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 4.0 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.
Tift County-area students on Georgia State’s president’s list include Britney Welch, and William Hunnicutt.
Georgia State names dean’s list
ATLANTA — To be eligible for the dean’s list, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Tift County-area Georgia State University dean’s list students are Jonathan Mcdaniel, Randa Cooper and Deep Patel.
Golden named to dean’s list
ANDERSON, S.C. – Despite the incredible challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Emily Golden of Tifton was named to the dean’s list at Anderson University for the spring semester, 2021. In order to be named to the dean’s list, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average or higher for the semester.
“Anderson University congratulates Emily Golden for this incredible accomplishment amid unprecedented challenges,” university officials said in a statement.
