TIFTON — The 58th Annual Peanut Seed Short Course for farmers, hosted by the Georgia Crop Improvement Association (GCIA), was held Feb. 27 at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center.
The GCIA is an organization of seed producers and turfgrass growers who are interested in “growing and making available to the public… high quality seeds and propagating materials of superior varieties so grown and distributed as to insure genetic purity and identity,” according to their website.
Attendees heard presentations from industry experts about topics ranging from peanut production, the peanut market forecast and laboratory research updates to peanut sustainability, seed treatment and pest management.
