TIFTON — Moviegoers will soon be able to see films on the big screen again.
The Tifton AMC Classic movie theater is planning to reopen starting Sept. 3, according to the AMC Theaters website.
The movie on the docket is action thriller ‘Tenet’, with showtimes at 4 p.m., 4:25 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
According to AMC, theaters will be opening with “AMC Safe and Clean” policies to combat the spread of COVID-19.
According to the posted guidelines, each auditorium will only be seated at 40% capacity and guests are asked to leave adequate distance between themselves and others.
Masks will be required for employees and moviegoers. The mask must cover the nose and mouth and fit snugly around the face and chin. Neck gaiters, open-chin bandanas and masks with vents or exhalation valves are not acceptable face coverings. Masks must be worn at all times unless the customer is eating or drinking.
Concessions will be available, but the menu will be more limited. Napkins, lids, straws and condiments will be available by request in order to reduce touch points and refills will not be available.
In order to cut down on possible contamination, cash will not be accepted at the concession stand, but tickets may be purchased with cash. Customers will be able to purchase a gift card with cash to use for concessions.
The theater will also institute enhanced cleaning routines, using electrostatic disinfectant sprayers between viewings and HEPA-filter vacuums at the end of the night. Common areas and high touch points, such as door handles and handrails, will also be routinely cleaned and sanitized.
