Tifton Police, GBI investigating deadly shooting

TIFTON — A Thursday night shooting in eastern Tifton has left one dead and two wounded.
Tifton Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are conducting a homicide investigation, according to a press release. At approximately 7:03 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, officers responded to reports of gunshots and a person being shot in the Ferry Lake Road and Bill Street area.
The release stated that upon arrival, officers found two males and a female had been shot. One victim died of injuries at the scene, according to the press release, which identified him as 20-year-old Derrick Wilson.
Tift County EMS took the other two victims to Tift Regional Medical Center. The release said both were listed in stable condition.
Tifton Police Department requested the assistance of the GBI in their investigation, which is ongoing.
