TIFTON — Neither rain nor heat nor summer storm stopped the Rock the Block festival in downtown Tifton on June 22.

The festival opened at 6 p.m. along First Street. Attendees were able to look at classic cars and play games such as corn hole during the event.

Young attendees were able to cool off by playing on two water slides set up or playing at a bubble station provided by the Mallory Ward School of Dance.

Older participants could visit Don Julio’s, 41 and Main or the newly-opened Tift Tap House to purchase drinks while listening to music from The River.

Vendors, such as K&K Kustom Creations, Smoke’n Cowboys and The Pub were on hand for food and drink purchases.

Fireworks had been planned for the evening but a summer thunderstorm halted the display just after it got started.
