TIFTON — The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for southeast and central south Georgia, effective from 4:40 p.m. until midnight.

The watch includes Baker, Berrien, Calhoun, Colquitt, Cook, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Thomas, Tift and Worth counties, according to the press release.

A tornado watch means that thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes are expected, and that tornadoes may be possible.
