ATLANTA — Emma Bryan continued her run of success at the state diving tournament.

Bryan, a Tift County diver, finished fourth in the Class 6-7A meet Tuesday at Georgia Tech. A sophomore, Bryan finished second last year. Amazingly, her second place score was lower than this year’s — 508.1 to 526.15.

Tuesday, Bryan was closer to first place than fifth place was to her.

Michelle Cummo (West Forsyth) scored 549.65 for first place. Second went to Anna Behrman (547.7, Harrison) and third to Kassandra Gutierrez (537.3, Etowah). Fifth place was Shannon Icard of Colquitt County at 501.4.

Tift County heads back to Atlanta Saturday for the swimming portion of the Class 7A championships. The meet will be broadcast live on NFHSNetwork.com.
