TIFTON — Culminating Lineman Appreciation Month, Heather Pye with Clearwave Fiber and Lynda Turner with Williams Hotel Group provided lunch for the Georgia Power Tifton area lineworkers.

Toni Reid, Georgia Power Tifton area manager, shared at a recent Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce board meeting that it was Lineworker Appreciation Month in April, organizers said in a statement.

Pye and Turner stepped up without hesitation and began brainstorming ways to show community support.

With a small window before Lineworker Appreciation Month wrapped up, they decided lunch would be best and with one call to Jonathan Scheller, Tifton distribution supervisor, the lunch date was set.

At lunch when addressing the group, Turner said, “This was an easy no-brainer. We support and appreciate our linemen for all they do.”

Pye added, “We appreciate you and thank you for what you do every day.”

“Support from our community in this way to show our linemen how much we appreciate them is an excellent way to show community partnership,” Reid said. “We are so thankful for community partners like Clearwave Fiber and Williams Hotel Group for making such an effort to celebrate our line crews and employees.”
